At Weissensee you will be able to cycle through varied terrain with challenging climbs and rapid downhills. Directly from the highest bathing lake in the Alps, 22 mountain biking trails (MTB trails) with 150 km of length and all levels of difficulty lead to the surrounding mountains. And those who want more can connect to further 650 km of marked mountain bike trails in Gitschtal, Gailtal and Lesachtal in Carinthia.
For those who prefer to take the route to Naggler Alm by the Weissensee cable railway, they can take their MTB with them. The mountain railway will provide an MTB transport chair.
Big Lake-Tour – Weissensee.
From Neusach, the path runs just to the rear of the Alm hinterm Brunn, across the Sonnseitenweg through the forest to the eastern end of the lake. Continue to the small Farchtner See and then on the unpaved road to Bodenalm. From there you reach Unternaggl and are back at the Weissensee. It is a distance of about 30 km, you have to go 1200 m of altitude.
Weiße Wand / white wall.
From alte Säge pass by the Alm hinterm Brunn, take the path towards the Gaijacher Alm, before the alpine pasture you will follow a path leading to the "Weiße Wand", an impressive rock formation with a great view to the lake. To get directly to the "White Wall", turn a short distance from the main forest road (about 150 m). The descent leads directly to the intersection at the petrol station. You will make 22 km on this tour and will climb up to 987 m of altitude. More about this tour here...
